BeautifySJ

BeautifySJ is a community service program dedicated to blight reduction and encampment management. Throughout the city they are responsible for litter pick-ups, graffiti removal, and dumpster days. The program consists of recreational staff and volunteers as well as partnerships with local community members, such as school districts, the San José Earthquakes, and Mayor Matt Mahan himself.

My role with BeautifySJ was to mainly write stories and create social media content for brand awareness and to attract volunteers and partnerships. I focused on cleanups partnered with neighborhood associations, City Councilmembers, and the Mayor to increase viewership through their channels.
